 AUSTIN TV
Creative Field: ROCK BAND
Country: MEXICO
Leaf Men, a forest lost, luminous insects that roam the woods, a lost object and a song without words, this is what exists in the universe Austin TV, a Mexican group that sounds more and more due to its good music. Music and image is what we expect from the hand of these masked musicians.
Date: August 18
1 .- Who integrate Austin Tv?
Chio San, Oiram ,Rata, Totore y Xna Yer do Austin TV.

We are all form México City and we have different beginnings, which drove us to know each other.

Chio San – Always close to the music and a great ear, she decided to start playing the keyboard when she came to Austin TV, and developed a skill that she was unaware.

Oiram - He began playing guitar for fun, then met Yer XNA in the punk rock scene, who invited him to play together on a project that would become AUSTIN TV

Rata - He studied music since childhood and started playing in a band called Spandex, which once alternated with Austin tv and that's how we know him.

Totore - He has been in many bands, most hard-core metal, recently joined Austin TV and we hope to create interesting music with his influences that are very different from ours.

Xna Yer- He played the guitar since childhood and had many bands, the first formal band in which he was involved was Hulespuma, through which he met Oiram. Then it became a drummer, an instrument now plays with Austin TV.
2.- Is it true that you edit your own discs?
Of course! the concept of everything that surrounds Austin tv, the design of our costumes, from the discs, shirts, buttons, web page, etc ... Also made up some buttons and personal records.
3.- why austin TV have no vocalist ?
Because we want to express in music what the words can not say .. From the first day we started to make music together, and composed many songs that would not matter much whether or not vocal but at the end of the day, we realized that we preferred the music without voice. And it became a goal for us to make music that does not need a vocalist.
4.- Which comes first, the graph concept or musical concept?
The musical concept first, the graph conectp comes just alter, we had the need to create a small world around Austin, it was very natural at first, for example, we used cuttings and photos of toys from the 50 `s, a kind of art that we love and that gave way to Austin for a long time
5.- do you believe that the graph concept give more weight to an album?
Totally, it can be the difference between downloading the album in mp3 or buy the original.
6.- Trevore is the one who always works in the graphic part?
Trevor is the head graphic artist from Austin tv, which is more involved with us, but we also work with other artists such as Alberto Cerriteño, Marcos Castro, Mokiena, Saner, etc ...

At the beginning of Austin we are very influenced by the graphic design of the 50 `s. We loved it and we don’t want to do anything that was not so,

In this last albun we has influenced by the forest and its myths, from the elves, gnomes, even lumberjacks and common animals that live there. It also we always captivated Dadaism and Surrealism, in fact, not only in graphics but in many of the things we do and generally what we live every day, what we read, movies we see, what we do, what we feel, everything around us is a constant influence.
7.- how you think that the public perceives the graphic image, next to the music you guys do?
I think they have always taken in mind, they appreciate it and make it own. This is how some people came dressed with glasses, then with rabbit ears and now come with sheet masks, made by them! It is incredible to see that people feel part of this whole world we are trying to create around each disc!
8.- Your first works had great references from movies, what are your favorite genres?
Yes, in deciding that we wanted to be instrumental we think that we wanted to give an extra and started using samplers of films that we liked or saying something interesting .... They all have favorite genres, I think in general we like movies that remind us we are alive, those movies that you will remember for a long time and leave you recorded image in your mind.
9.- It is simple or complicated to achieve visual harmony that you deal with music?
We were never complicated, because what we were doing we sustain it in some way and we finished something that it seemed the most aesthetic and original that we could do ...
10.- Who is Mario lupo?
It is a character created from what we live to find an explanation for paranormal things happened to us when we were composing Fontana Bella in Avándaro. We wanted to create an entire world around Fontana Bella, writing Mario’s diary and put all that we live there, also we investigate on spiritualism, mediums, the way in which different cultures see death (more specifically the pre-Hispanic ), etc...
11 .- Could you tell us some funny anecdote that occurred during a concert?
Often it seems people feel comfortable with us to make performance, once in D.F. someone climbed to the stage and brush his teeth in the middle of the stage, on another occasion in Aguascalientes in the middle of a song, an old man climbed playing a harmonica ! It was incredible ... jaja laughed a lot! we have also fallen on stage!
12 - How many images created for your latest cd 'Fontana Bella'?
The illustrations were done by an artist Marcos Castro already avowed here, we are fortunate to be our friend and for the disc he made 30 illustrations plus the cover
13.- How was the experience of working with Alberto Cerriteño for your second video? Did he have total freedom or you give previous ideas of the character? And how long it takes ?
It was unbelievable! Everything came in a funny way! We were looking for someone who could make the animation video of shiva, and nobody liked. Suddenly we get an email from Alberto saying he liked Austin tv and he would like to work with us, we saw what he did and we liked, fantastic! ! We were impressed with his art and immediately told him that we were just looking for him! He he, already had some idea of how it was Mario Lupo and gave him the specifications and gave him a script of what would happen in the video. But in the graphic we didnt involve, we rely entirely on his work, style and beauty! And we loved the result!
14.- What graphic aesthetics Austin TV does not like, one that you say 'never use it'?
Never could say this will never ever use this, at some point some graphic aesthetics could match perfectly with what we are doing at the moment and and could liked
15.- What are you doing now? Can you anticipate something about some new project you have?
We are promoting our Fontana Bella disc, but this time the special edition, and at the same time we are composing the next record, which we hope will be ready in early 2010.

By the graphic content: 4 postcards of artists who have been associated with us in this record, it means: Alberto Cerriteño, Marcos Castro, Saner y Trevore Valensuela . it will have Mario Lupo's diary and a blank diary with the same format, so you can write your own story! Also have a photo that we taked a year after being in that house and have felt that weird stuff happened, and found something very strange in the mirror! (swear that there is no trick!)

Also bring:

* The CD with all the tracks that include Fontana Bella, plus an extra track of 15 minutes (The song 'in the woods never silence' which recounts the end of the history of Mario Lupo.
* The DVD, Bring a photo documentary made by ourselves, with pictures of how we did and recorded the album, at the same time we describe some of the feelings that we had to do it!
- Also includes the videos made for the singles, Marduk and Shiva.
- A gallery with photos we take with people who travel and pay for a ticket to go to a concert and who smile, cry and scream along with AUSTIN TV in many of the shows between 2007 and 2009.
18-Your face does not matter, care about you?
Thats right, what you do is what matters, your relationships with others and what you do in the world, that's what really matters, we believe it is more important to make us as a persons. We believe that everyone has equal opportunities to achieve their goals, regardless of sex, religion, social status, race, etc.. We care on what you bring as a human being, not your appearance.
